iPhone 16 could see some upgrades that could push its starting price
iPhone 16 series is launching later in 2024 and expected to get new AI features but other upgrades could make it costlier for you.
Apple is set to launch the all-new iPhone 16 series in the second half of 2024, and it is expected that the company will introduce a slew of new features and enhancements. The upcoming lineup may include four models, including the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Amid all the buzz around the iPhone 16 series, some recent speculations have suggested that the latest series will cost more compared to the iPhone 15 series. The main reason behind the increased prices is the inclusion of premium components and other factors that have increased the production cost of the mobile.
Over the years, the price of the iPhone series has remained constant. The company’s baseline models, from the iPhone 12 to the iPhone 15, have all been launched for $800. However, this year, Apple is speculated to launch the 16 series at an increased price.
The main reason is that the 16 series will come with lighter and thinner designs, advanced camera systems, and new A18 chipsets. Apart from that, the company is also expected to add artificial intelligence (AI) technology to it, which might increase the production cost. These reasons, along with the rise in inflation, might lead to an increase in the price of the iPhone 16 series.
However, it is still unclear whether the price rise will affect all the models in the 16 series. It has been found that Pro models are the most likely to be affected. Last year, the iPhone 15 Pro Max also saw a price hike due to its expensive telephoto camera, A17 Pro chipset, titanium frame, and high-end Samsung display. The factors increased the price of the 15 Pro Max by 12 per cent as compared to the 14 Pro Max.
In terms of its additions, the Apple iPhone 16 series is expected to have capacitive buttons instead of physical buttons on either side of the smartphone. These capacitive buttons will reportedly be able to provide haptic feedback when touched, emulating the feeling of pressing a physical button. Until now, there has been no announcement regarding the official date of the launch of the smartphone.
