Given the split in regional parties — both Shiv Sena and NCP — this marks the first Lok Sabha polls in Mumbai with altered political dynamics
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will add star power to the Mahayuti alliance’s campaign on Wednesday with a mega roadshow in Ghatkopar in support of Mihir Kotecha, BJP’s candidate for Mumbai North East.
As the 2024 Lok Sabha battle progresses into its fifth phase — also the final phase for Maharashtra which includes six seats in Mumbai — the grand event is being seen as a show of strength to counter the Maha Vikas Agadhi on Battleground Mumbai.
“PM Modi will commence the road show at 6.45pm from Ashok Silk Mill near LBS Road, Damodar Park in Ghatkopar West, proceeding through Shreyas Talkies, Sarvodaya Signal, Sanghvi Square on MG Road, and concluding at Parsvnath Mandir Chowk near Ramji Asar School in Ghatkopar East,” Kotecha said.
Urging people of Mumbai to join in large numbers to bestow their blessings and witness the impressive roadshow, Kotecha said: “Come and meet the harbinger of development, the embodiment of divine spirit, and the leader of the era, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Within Mahayuti, both BJP and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena are contesting three seats each in Mumbai. In MVA, Sena (UBT) is contesting four seats and Congress is fighting on two seats in Mumbai. Given the split in regional parties — both Shiv Sena and NCP — this marks the first Lok Sabha polls in Mumbai with altered political dynamics. Both alliances are sparing no efforts to secure victory in the battle for Mumbai.
