Bharti Airtel Shares Jump Nearly 3% After Posting Fivefold Q4 Profit Surge

Bharti Airtel Q4 profit surged fivefold for the March 2025 quarter, driving a nearly 3% jump in the telecom giant’s stock price on Wednesday. This remarkable growth was driven by tariff hikes and a one-time gain from favorable tax rulings.

The company’s shares climbed 2.69% on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), closing at ₹1,870. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), they rose 2.75% to ₹1,870.70.
Bharti Airtel Q4 Profit Soars to ₹11,022 Crore Amid Tariff Gains
Bharti Airtel reported a consolidated net profit of ₹11,022 crore in Q4 FY25, up from ₹2,071.6 crore in the same quarter last year.
Higher tariffs and a substantial one-time tax gain of ₹5,913 crore fueled the spike.
These gains stemmed from favorable court orders in long-standing tax disputes.
Revenue Growth Strengthens Bharti Airtel Q4 Profit Momentum
The telecom giant’s revenue from operations surged 27%, reaching ₹47,876.2 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to ₹37,599.1 crore in the same period last year. Bharti Airtel attributed this strong performance to higher average revenue per user (ARPU) and tariff hikes implemented in July 2024.

In India alone, the company’s standalone revenue grew by 15% year-on-year, totaling ₹36,735 crore for the March 2025 quarter compared to ₹31,851.5 crore in the same period a year ago.
Tariff Hikes and Premium User Growth Fuel Profitability
Bharti Airtel’s strategic focus on increasing tariffs and attracting premium customers continues to yield strong results. The company’s July 2024 tariff revision helped improve ARPU metrics significantly. This move, coupled with expanding data usage, has bolstered both the top line and bottom line.
