These prestigious accolades were bestowed yesterday at the EPIC SANA Marquês Hotel, an esteemed member of the brand’s esteemed L.V.X. Collection situated in Lisbon, during the grand finale of the 2024 Preferred Global Conference. Commemorating its 20th year under the ownership of the Ueberroth family, Preferred orchestrated the conference under the theme “Journey,” a nod to the company’s remarkable growth over the past two decades. The eagerly awaited 2024 awards pay tribute to the brand’s metamorphosis and steadfast dedication to its independent hotel affiliates, collectively striving to pioneer innovation in the realm of hospitality.

Hosted at the sophisticated EPIC SANA Marquês Hotel, nestled amidst the picturesque hills of Lisbon, the ceremony witnessed a gathering of over 200 luminaries from the hospitality industry. Notable guest speakers included Robert B. Chavez, the Executive Chairman of Hermès, and Shazia Din, the Marketing and Digital Sales Director from SANA Hotels, alongside numerous independent luxury hoteliers from across the globe. CEO Lindsey Ueberroth and President Michelle Woodley inaugurated the proceedings by lauding the nominees of the GIFTTS Pineapple Awards, honoring outstanding initiatives aligned with the brand’s Great Initiatives for Today’s (Tomorrow’s) Society (GIFTTS) program, launched by the Ueberroth Family in 2007. Subsequently, the Preferred Awards of Excellence were conferred, spanning diverse categories such as New Hotel of the Year, I Prefer Hotel of the Year, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Shiji ReviewPro Award for Online Reputation Management.
