Mumbai Indians stars have landed in the City of Joy for their penultimate match of IPL 2024 that will see them lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders.
Mumbai Indians have been eliminated from the IPL 2024 playoffs but they will be hoping to sign off on a high by winning their remaining two matches of the season. They will next take on table-toppers Kolkata Knight Riders in an away fixture which is slated to be held on Saturday.
The five-time champions have already arrived in the City of Joy.
A video of MI’s travel from Mumbai to Kolkata was shared by the franchise on their social media account on Instagram.
Upon their arrival in Kolkata, the players were cheered by fans present at the airport. The visiting side received a jubilant reception at the hotel and they were received a grand welcome.

MI players including captain Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and others looked in a cheery mood ahead of the contest.
Users are sending their best wishes to the Pandya-led franchise.
“Good luck for next match MI,” wrote one fan.
“Our legends,” commented another user on Instagram.
Another added, “Heart saying Rohit will score On 11th May.”
Despite their track record in IPL, MI did not have a memorable campaign this time around.
On Wednesday, they become the first side of the season to be eliminated from the playoff race.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s sublime 10-wicket win against Lucknow Super Giants at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday resulted in MI’s exit.
With two games still to be played, MI will be playing for pride now.
They have so far conceded eight defeats in 12 matches.
MI can collect a maximum of 12 points at the end of the league stage but it will not be adequate for the five-time champions to finish among the top-four teams.
MI are currently languishing at the ninth spot in the IPL 2024 points table.
