Sunrisers Hyderabad coasted to a 10-wicket triumph over Lucknow Super Giants at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League as the hosts limited the visitors to 165 for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs before chasing down the target with 62 deliveries to spare.
The win meant that the Hyderabad-based team climbed to third in the league, while Lucknow stayed sixth in the table, however, their net run rate took a heavy beating following the thumping loss in Hyderabad.
The result also drew curtains on Mumbai Indians’ chances for a playoff spot as the five-time winners were mathematically ousted from the running for the top four places following the result.

Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals continue to occupy the top two places in the standings with 16 points to their name each after the completion of 11 games and are separated by nothing by net run rate. KKR have an NRR of +1.45, while RR have managed +0.47.
CSK, who have 12 points in 11 games thus far this season, slid to fourth in the table in the aftermath of SRH’s decimation of LSG.
Fifth-placed Delhi Capitals are level on points with CSK, however, the capital city side have completed 12 outings, one more than the defending champions Chennai. And much to their anguish, DC’s NRR stands at a negative -0.316, much inferior to that of CSK’s +0.7.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings stand seventh and eighth on the table with 8 points to their name each having played 11 fixtures so far, with RCB placed ahead of PBKS thanks to a better NRR of -0.049 as compared to Punjab’s -0.187.
MI, who have tallied just 8 points in 12 games stand ninth, but tenth-placed Gujarat Titans, also at 8 points, have contested only 11 times this season, and have the opportunity to leapfrog the ousted team.
