Khaleel, Mukesh Kumar storm into the top 5 of Purple Cap list
Virat Kohli still holds the Orange Gap while Bumrah has the Purple Cap. DC pacers Khaleel Ahmed and Mukesh Kumar storm into the top 5.
Delhi Capitals beat Lucknow Super Giants by 19 runs in the IPL 2024 on Tuesday evening. Commanding fifties from Abishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs were complemented by a clinical bowling effort as Delhi Capitals kept their slim IPL play-off hopes alive.
DC posted 208 for four in their must-win game against LSG. Opener Abhishek Porel scored a 33-ball 58 at the top while a rear-guard act by Tristan Stubbs took DC over the 200-run mark. In response, LSG ended at 189 for nine despite fighting fifties from Nicholas Pooran and Arshad Khan.
After the loss in their penultimate league game, LSG are all but out of the playoff race. DC’s win paved the way for Rajasthan Royals’ qualification to the playoffs. Delhi moved to 14 points, the same as Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, and their playoff chances depend on a sequence of other results.

Top 5 Bowlers in IPL 2024 Purple Cap Standings After DC vs LSG
Jasprit Bumrah: The Mumbai Indians’ ace continues to lead the table of wicket-takers in IPL 2024. His performance against KKR was just another proof of why he should be one of the most feared bowlers in the tournament.
Harshal Patel: The Punjab Kings pacer was the first bowler to reach the 20-wicket mark in the tournament. He has improved his game, particularly through the death overs where he has been impressive when going up against some of the best hitters.
Khaleel Ahmed: The DC left-arm pacer dismissed LSG tail-ender Yudhvir Singh Charak to complete 17 wickets in the IPL 2024. Though Khaleel has leaked runs in plenty, he is now the leading wicket-taker for Delhi Capitals this season.
